Privacy Policy

This policy explains how the Android apps published by PriyoIslam on Google Play (the “apps”) handle information. It applies to every app PriyoIslam publishes on Google Play, including those listed on our home page.

Summary

• We do not ask you to create an account and we do not collect your name, email address, phone number or contacts.
• App content is built in and works offline. Nothing you read, count or save is sent to us.
• Location (only in the Adhan and Ramadan apps, only if you allow it) is used on your phone to calculate prayer times and is never sent to us.
• Most apps show ads from Google AdMob. Google may collect some device information to show and measure ads, as described below.

Information stored on your device

The apps save your settings and progress on your device so they are remembered next time. Depending on the app, this can include your language, your chosen city and prayer time calculation method, alarm and reminder times, favorite duas, tasbih counter totals and the last verse you listened to. This information is never sent to us, and is deleted from your device when you clear the app’s data or uninstall it. If Android backup is turned on, your phone may include these settings in your own backup in your Google account, which we cannot access.

Location (Adhan and Ramadan)

To set your city automatically, the Adhan and Ramadan apps can ask for your approximate location. This is optional: you can search for and pick your city by hand instead. When you allow it, the location is read once on your phone and used to find the nearest city and calculate prayer times, including sehri and iftar in the Ramadan app and the Qibla direction in the Adhan app. The result is saved in the app’s settings. The apps do not send it to us or to anyone else, and they do not track your location in the background. You can turn the permission off at any time in your phone’s settings.

Notifications and alarms

Some apps (for example Adhan, Dua & Dhikr, Salawat and Ramadan) can show prayer time alarms and reminders. These are scheduled on your device. The apps ask for permission to show notifications and set alarms, and to restore your alarms after the phone restarts. No information is sent anywhere to do this.

Audio downloads (Surah Yasin and Surah Ar-Rahman)

The Surah Yasin and Surah Ar-Rahman apps each include one reciter. If you choose another reciter, its audio files are downloaded once from EveryAyah.com and then play offline. As with any download, that server receives your IP address and basic request information. No personal information is sent. Surah Yasin does not show ads; Surah Ar-Rahman does.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

Most apps use the Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob) to show banner ads, and some also show full-screen ads between screens, which keeps the apps free. To serve ads, measure their performance and prevent fraud, Google may automatically collect and process:

• Device identifiers, such as the Android advertising ID and app set ID
• Your IP address, which may be used to estimate your general location
• Device and app information, such as device model, operating system version and app version
• Interactions with ads, such as views and taps, and diagnostic data such as crash logs

This information is collected by Google, not by PriyoIslam, and we do not receive information that identifies you. Google’s use of this data is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy.

You can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalized ads, in your phone’s settings (usually Settings → Google → Ads or Settings → Privacy → Ads). You can also manage ad personalization at My Ad Center.

Where the law requires it, such as in the European Economic Area and the UK, the Ramadan and Surah Ar-Rahman apps show Google’s consent form before requesting ads. You can change your choice later under Ad privacy choices in the app’s Settings.

Permissions

• Internet: to load ads and, in Surah Yasin and Surah Ar-Rahman, to download optional reciters.
• Approximate location (Adhan and Ramadan, optional): to set your city for prayer times.
• Notifications, alarms, vibration and start at boot (Adhan, Dua & Dhikr, Salawat, Ramadan; the exact permissions vary by app): for prayer alarms and reminders.
• Background audio (Surah Yasin, Surah Ar-Rahman): to keep playing a recitation when the screen is off.

Links to outside websites open in your web browser, where that website’s own privacy policy applies.

Sharing and selling of data

We do not sell personal information and we do not share it with anyone, because we do not collect it. The only third parties involved are Google for advertising and EveryAyah.com for optional audio downloads, as described above.

Children

The apps are for a general audience and are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information by email, contact us and we will delete it.

Emails you send us

If you contact us by email, we use your email address and message only to reply to you. We do not add you to any mailing list, and we will delete your messages on request.

Data deletion

Because we keep no personal data, there is no account or server data to delete. To remove the settings stored on your device, clear the app’s data in Settings → Apps or uninstall the app. To remove data held by Google for advertising, use the advertising ID controls above.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes are posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
